This page lists everything the site stores in your browser, and why.
The one cookie
When you open a page in a language other than your browser’s preferred language, the site saves that language in a cookie named NEXT_LOCALE, for example “de” for German, and updates it if you later open pages in another language. The next time you open a page without a language in its address, it opens in that language. The cookie holds only the language code, is set by this site alone and expires after 1 year.

No tracking
The site sets no other cookies, and none for analytics or advertising.
Settings saved in your browser
Two settings are kept in your browser’s local storage instead of a cookie: the country you choose in the mortgage, loan or auto loan calculator, and the fact that you closed the cookie notice. They stay on your device and are not sent to the site.
Country suggestion
To preselect a country, the mortgage, loan and auto loan calculators ask the site which country your connection comes from, at /api/geo-country. Our host, Vercel, works this out from your IP address with each such request, and it may log requests. The calculators use the country only to preselect the Country field and do not save it. A country in the page address, or one you chose yourself, always comes first.
Removing the cookie
You can delete the cookie and the saved settings at any time in your browser’s settings. The site works without them; a page without a language in its address then follows your browser’s language.
